Driving Leasons

Rylee has been anticipating her driving lesson with Pa Pa. This afternoon she got her chance.

Yes, she was concentrating and she did a great job.

She was very concerned about not obeying the law. I told her she could be unbuckled because an adult had given her permission. She has such an obedient heart.
Watch out world, she is already looking forward to driving.

Other swimmers

Rhonda, Raymond, Jason, and I were also in the water. I don't have a close up picture of Rhonda but here are the rest of us.

The First to Slide

It really came down to bribery. Pa Pa told the 3 oldest that he would give $5 to the first to slide. Rylee earned the money.
 Pa Pa did some encouraging.
 Off she goes!!!
Next, the diving board. This is her favorite. She is our best water duck at this time.

Remember the Banana Boat?

When my girls were young, GranBob and PaBill bought a "banana boat" to pull behind their boat. 4 kids could ride- sometimes. Jeff was youngest and got put on the back seat. He lost his place when the boat began to pull because the rope would pull up the back of the raft. Now, we have a noodle that is about 8 inches in diameter. Really too big to rest on so Rylee and Skylar decided to ride it.
Help Aunt Laura!

Try some more!

Success!

Swimmers of the Weekend

Raymond went swimming accidentally about a month ago. He was power washing the deck and stepped off the dock. 2 weeks ago I went in and was ok after I got numb from the cold water.
Here is Skylar blowing water like a whale. Thanks to Pa Pa for another fun lesson.

Swimming Girls

Here goes the 1st of our swimmers for this 4th of July weekend.
Laura, Skylar, and Kaelyn came in on Wednesday night to enjoy some lake time with us. Unfortunately Brad had to work.
Here is Skylar. 1st she was going to jump off the diving board. Then she had second thoughts.

She eased in down the steps. Maybe tomorrow she will jump into the water.

For now we will enjoy the cool water and fun with her Momma.

Pa Pa got water and primed the pump for the slide. It is ready for SOMEONE to go first.
We will see soon who it will be.

How I spent the last 8 days

Raymond and I have enjoyed living in the farm house. This was a great opportunity for us to carry on the tradition of  the Love homestead. This house was built by Raymond's grandfather -Pa Pa (Bill) Love, Sr. in 1929. He borrowed $4000 to build the house and the crash of '29 caught him as well as the nation in the hard times of the Depression. It was in the 1940s before he was able to pay off the loan. Bill and Bobbie moved into the house in 1961.
Each generation has put love and care into the house. Now, our turn has come.

This was Raymond's bedroom. We use it as a TV room.

The kitchen and utility were carpeted.

This picture shows the new tile floor we had installed.

This is the back wall of the utility room with the new 18 inch tiles.

The changes in the pink bathroom:

Note the mirror on the wall -thanks Raymond for a special bit of luxury.
By removing the closet from the TV room, we created the space for the shower.

The back bathroom was created from a closet. The use of the space is amazing. The walls and floor were redone to update it from its 1970's look.

The house is solid like our heritage. We will enjoy the new features.
Thanks to Tommy Tomerlin and his crew for all this work done in 8 long days.
