Gifts and Family

Do you promise yourself: I will take more pictures that tell the story of my life?

Join the club. Then the fun begins and I fail.

My words are never adequate to the task of telling what I want. But I try. So here the

story goes for this year.

Our church, Midway Baptist Church, Lamesa, TX has a program each year.

Sometimes I am inspiration and other times, instigation. This year I wanted to do a Candlelight

Service that we have used in the past. I love the candles and the Scripture of Luke 2.

Donna Burkett has a beautiful reading voice and Lila leads our song service. Each serves with a heart of pure love. So, I get a picture of them before the service.

Now, where is the picture of the table with its many candles and Travis as he lights and extinguishes the candles? I can see him in my mind: good-looking Senior in high school and nearly as tall as his dad.

Santa visited with the kids in the audience. This is Kenley and Josh Krohn.

The tables were set with white candles and stars sitting on the white tablecloths. OK, now use your imagination. Again.

Then we jump to San Angelo and the family.

I didn't miss our own personal Rudolph. Reagan is the life of a party! She used a rubber ring that had broken off a yo yo and came up with this impersonation.

Then, Sissy (Rylee) tries the costume.

My own idea of a great Santa. Thanks for the great gift of a necklace this year!

Here are pictures from the gifts-giving with Laura, Brad, and Skylar. The biggest hit: a Dog bigger that Skylar herself! Thanks, GrandBob!

Where is a picture of my Mother? She came on Sunday and we took her back to Lamesa on Monday. She was ready to get back to her own home.

Then we skip to today. Part of my gift to Skylar was to help her make clothes for her baby doll. True love and skill. Skylar helped so much and had great ideas.

This is the doll in her new nightgown. She has named the baby "Amanda" and we embroidered that on the front bodice.

So much for a picture book for the coffee table. We did have a great time and my memories are sweet and complete.

We loved and laughed. And remembered the real reason for Christmas: Jesus was born for our salvation. He came willingly and completed His work.

What a great gift!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!!!!

Reagan and Rylee each got a Tinkerbell Scooter for Christmas.
As they were heading toward each other, they neither knew how to
avoid a "meeting". They stopped before it was a hard bump. No
tears and they were off again.

Raymond, Rhonda, Reagan, Jason, and Rylee enjoying being outside at the lakehouse.
The scooter riding was about to continue.

Reagan having a piece of toast while watching Rylee ride.

Merry Christmas

Rhonda and Laura were trying to decorate Rhonda's kitchen and yet they love me enough to stop, dress up the girls, and take these pictures for me for us to use on my Christmas cards. Raymond and I had plans to take Reagan home after Thanksgiving and get our annual picture taken with these sweet girls but that did not happen. So, you will see what our makes our lives full -family!

Reagan and Travis at Midway Baptist Church

Know the difference in child and grandchild?
My child -"Don't run in the church!!!!"
My granddaughter- "Look how fast you can run!!!!"
We had Lord's Supper this morning. Reagan sat with GranBob and was good.
"What's that?"
"Bread"
"What's that?"
"Juice."
"What's that?'
"Lord's supper"
"Not much, is it."
We were proud of GranBob. She didn't laugh out loud!

Girls and Their Daddy

Jason is such a good Daddy.
Here I caught a couple of examples.
Reagan and Jason while they were discussing the letters in her name.

Here is Rylee giving Daddy a ride on the tricycle. Yes, he really was on the back!

November Fishing trip

8 men on a mission: Catch those fish!!!!

They rented a house in Port Mansfield. Greg and Raymond took their boats.

This is what it is all about!!!!!

Cleaning the fish is part of the job.

Filleting the fish.

Raymond talking Kenneth through the process.

Arlie is really the expert.

Greg seems to have the job under control. He is another experienced fisherman.

The bay birds feed on the discards.
Every one is happy.
Thanks to Ray Hewett for the pictures.

2009 Grand Ole Tour in Alpine, TX

Each year the antique car club has a tour. This year we traveled to Alpine, TX. We visited Alpine, Marfa, and Ft. Davis. Despite the cold weather, we had a great time. Raymond and I even saw the Marfa lights!

County courthouse in Marfa.

A visit to Ft. Davis and the restoration on site

View of the Davis Mt. from the look-out by McDonald Observatory.
Then the best: Raymond and I got to dress for a Halloween party.
Bobbie had this costume in her basement and here I am:

Then , my motorcycle man put on his duds and we had great fun.

Skylar said: Papa, you have girl hair!

Pictures of the fishermen

Ben came by with pictures from the fishing trip the guys took to the coast.
Here is a day's catch.

They had to clean as the rain began to fall. Note the water and Arlie's shirt.

A smile even if the rain did send them home earlier than expected.

Our Nephew's Wedding

We had a great time in Boston. Never saw anything but the hotel and several resturants. The best part was the marriage of Raymond's nephew to the sweetest girl we have met in a long time.

Fish Habitat

Always thinking of future hopes. This is a fish habitat where fish are supposed to feed on the algae that grows on the PVC pipes.

Off to catch fish

Yes, he is awake and ready to go. This is a man who goes "catching" instead of " fishing". (4:30am)
I just received a call from Denny's in San Angelo. The guys had breakfast and were preparing to get the boat. The main reason for the call was to tell me they had hit a mule deer 3 miles south of Lamesa. Bent the grill guard, front bumper, and driver's door. Raymond and Arlie pulled the dead deer off the road. (8:00am)
They are at Port Aransas and another deer had jumped in front of them close to there. I asked him to PLEASE be careful. (5:30pm)

The End of Tuesday

Even though it is cooling down, Raymond wanted to ride the
water craft after supper. I grabbed my camera and began to take photos.

Then.... opps. "I didn't realize I was too close."
I was so surprised that I simply covered
the camera and took a dousing.
The dry spot in the middle was where I was sitting.

O.K. So I didn't melt!
I did get a picture of the sun setting.
